Born and raised in the mountains of Western North Carolina, Susannah Grace has been singing stories for as long as she can remember. Though she earned a degree in opera performances and once planned to pursue a career on the classical stage, God had other plans. When the world changed during Covid, so did her path, leading her back to the music that first captured her heart: folk songs, campfire ballads and stories passed from one generation to the next. Drawing from influences as varied as Scotch-Irish folk tradition, classical composition, musical theater, bluegrass and Americana, Susannah's music blends rich storytelling with melodies that feel both familiar and unexpected. At the heart of her music is the belief that the land remembers. Long unused paths, mountain hollers, old family farms, open range, the forgotten places carry echoes of the people who came before. Through her songwriting, Susannah seeks out lost stories and gives them a voice. She has performed everywhere from the operatic stage and musical theater productions, to bars, festivals, and campfires. In 2025 she received an Honorable Mention in the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest and released her debut EP, Grandfather Mountain, a five song folk narrative inspired by the storytelling traditions of Appalachia. Whether performing an original ballad or breathing new life into an old tune, Susannah's goal remains the same: to help people remember that every place and person carries a story worth telling.
